What Is Spirit Release?
“Spirit Release? What is that?”
It’s a question I get asked frequently when people find out I have a business. Almost nobody I come across in day-to-day life knows what it is, or has ever even heard the term Spirit Release. At that moment, I have to make a choice: explain what I do in lengthy detail, or give them a vague and innocuous kind of description. I used to default to the latter.
“I do a kind of energy healing work.”
But this would backfire half the time because then there would be a follow-up question.
“Is it reiki?”
“No, it’s more along the lines of removing curses, ghosts, and negative entities from people and houses.”
Looking puzzled, they’d ask “Like an exorcism?”
“Kind of, but not really.”
Then I’d end up having to launch into the lengthy, detailed description I was trying to avoid.
It’s not that I didn’t want to discuss what I do. I love talking about Spirit Release. It’s fascinating, exciting, and in my experience, life-changing work. But when people were asking me these questions, I was at my day job as a public librarian, and I wasn’t supposed to be talking about anything that had even the slightest possibility of offending anyone.
I’m now retired.
Let the fun begin.
So if you’re here wondering what Spirit Release is, allow me to provide you with a much more accurate and detailed description.
Spirit Release is a practice intended to clear a person’s energy field of negative influences, and restore what we call “spiritual sovereignty” meaning full ownership, authority, and autonomy over their own energy field. When a person is spiritually sovereign, they are free from unwanted or unknown external influences, such as energetic attachments, entities, or other unseen burdens that may be affecting their mental, emotional, spiritual, or physical state.
Did your eyes glaze over yet?
If not, read on, friend.
A Spirit Release clearing session with me also addresses much more than that. It includes:
Clearing and repairing a client’s compromised etheric fields and boundaries, with the intention of restoring their integrity and protection.
Advising clients on how to maintain these boundaries and reduce the likelihood of future intrusions.
Exploring how these boundaries were compromised and identifying a client’s vulnerabilities.
Reclaiming soul fragments.
Clearing blockages and removing energetic implants or devices.
Clearing and aligning the chakra system.
Removing past-life resonances that are causing harm or difficulties.
Exploring a client’s purpose in life, including why they’re here and what they came to do.
Cool, right?
I think so.
Who doesn’t want to be free and clear and have a better understanding of their purpose in this life? And all of this goes into a detailed written report that a client can read and refer back to for guidance and recommendations.
Homes and land can carry this kind of weight too. We’ve probably all come across this at some point. Back before I was a practitioner, I used to love to visit haunted places. I stayed at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, one of the most famously haunted hotels in Southern California, and had strange and unexplained experiences there. I also used to go ghost hunting. I walked around old sites at midnight with an emf detector trying to elicit an interaction.
Maybe there’s a place you avoided as a child because something just wasn’t right there. Or maybe you’ve stepped foot in a building and instantly felt uncomfortable. That’s because places carry energetic signatures as well and are susceptible to negative influence and attachment. Sometimes people hang around homes after they’ve passed. Sometimes tragedy has struck an area and the imprint it’s left behind is noticeable and eerie.
I help clear spaces now, and these kinds of clearings have their own separate protocol. I help these beings move on instead of exploiting their confusion or trauma for entertainment purposes or to satisfy my curiosity. I like to think of it as making amends for when I didn’t know any better.
If you’re wondering what a Spirit Release session actually looks like, it’s surprisingly simple.
You book a session, provide your relevant information, and my team and I meet remotely to do the session. That means you’re not present. You are not on a live call with us, or messaging us, or interacting with us in any way. You can go about your day without having to do anything out of the ordinary. The clearing takes place. You are notified when it is complete, and you receive your written report via email.
Let’s take a look at how this plays out with a fictional example.
Sandra is a pediatric nurse and lately something has changed.
She’s exhausted. Not the ordinary kind of tired that comes after a long shift, but a deeper exhaustion that sleep doesn’t fix. She’s more irritable than usual, having trouble concentrating, and sometimes finds herself feeling overwhelmed for no obvious reason.
Sandra’s work is demanding. Caring for sick children and their families can take an emotional toll, and she knows that feeling drained after a difficult day is part of the job. But recently she experienced a particularly distressing situation with a young patient. The circumstances were heartbreaking, and Sandra left that shift feeling emotionally raw.
Days pass, but the feeling doesn’t.
One evening Sandra confides in a close friend, who suggests that she get a Spirit Release clearing. She isn’t sure what to think. She’s never done anything like this before, but she’s intrigued. She’s also reached a point where she’s willing to try almost anything that will help her feel better.
So she books a free consultation, and after a 20 minute conversation, learns about the process and feels comfortable enough to schedule a clearing.
What she is surprised to learn is that she won’t be present during the clearing. She’ll go about her normal routine and the clearing work will happen without her having to be there.
This is the process my colleagues and I have been trained to follow through the Spirit Release Academy. The Academy has developed this particular protocol following years of trial and error, and an emphasis is placed on conducting clearings safely and systematically.
Here’s what happens on our end.
As the facilitator, I contact a Spirit Release Academy-trained medium practitioner and arrange a time to meet remotely. At our appointment, we create an energetically safe space, and the medium brings forth their Spirit Guide. Under the direction of the facilitator, the Guide locates the client, obtains permission to proceed, and begins to carry out the work.
As a team we work through an exhaustive protocol which includes rigorously-tested practices, questions, and answers. Anything identified as not belonging to the client is removed by the Guide. A certain amount of healing and restoration takes place, and sovereignty is fully restored. When the clearing is complete, Sandra receives an email letting her know that the session has concluded. Her written report follows. She’s instructed to read through it carefully. I offer to make myself available to answer any questions she may have once she’s done that.
Some of what she reads surprises her. Some of it gives context to things she has been experiencing and couldn’t explain. And some of it simply leaves her with a lot to think about.
So what happens next? It really depends upon what Sandra decides to do. Does every problem in Sandra’s life magically disappear? Of course not. She’s still a pediatric nurse. Her job is still demanding. Difficult things still happen and she will still have stressful days to come.
Maybe she sleeps more deeply. Maybe she isn’t as irritable and has more patience and energy. Maybe the heaviness is gone, or the sense of being weighed down is no longer there. Now she has an awareness of what her baseline clear and sovereign state feels like. Now she has solid instructions and advice for moving forward and keeping herself protected. Her sovereignty is reclaimed, and now she gets to make her own decisions, free and clear of influence and distraction.
If you are still reading this, maybe you have more than a passing interest.
Consider a consultation call. It’s free. You can ask whatever questions you have and then decide if it’s a good fit for you. I will never pressure you into booking a session, or try to make you feel bad if you decide it’s not for you. That decision needs to be solely yours.
The truth is I could sit and talk about Spirit Release and everything related to this work ALL DAY. Because I love it. It’s perhaps the most important work I’ve ever done in my life. It’s humbling. It’s meaningful. It’s endlessly fascinating. And I’ve seen it change lives.
It changed my life.
That’s why I’m a practitioner today.
After my own first clearing, I knew I needed to learn how to do this work, even if only to better understand how to keep myself and the people I love clear and protected. Has something about this subject caught your attention? Perhaps there’s a reason. Maybe you’ve experienced something you can’t explain. Maybe you’ve been searching for answers, or you’re just beginning to wonder if there is more to your experience than what you can see.
You don’t have to believe everything you read here. You don’t have to know what you think about Spirit Release yet. Curiosity is enough to start a conversation.
