Bringing In the Light

This is the one I do every day, and I start every meditation with it. You can do it in the shower. You can do it during break time at work. Definitely do it while relaxing before you fall asleep.

The Three Breaths

Start by breathing deeply and slowly in through your nose and out through your mouth. Just put complete awareness on the breaths going in and out. I pause briefly on the inbreath, then exhale slowly. Do this a few times until your body and mind start to feel calmer and more relaxed.

Then imagine a bright white light in front of you. This bright light is healing, restorative, and nurturing. You’re going to breathe this light in with three deep breaths. Take the first deep breath in, breathing in that white light. Imagine it flowing in your nostrils and filling your lungs and diaphragm area, absorbing any dark, stale, or stagnant energy like a sponge. As you exhale, imagine that dark, stale energy leaving out through your mouth. On your second breath in, imagine that bright white light coming in and expanding further, infusing your head and heart and upper body with the cleansing white light. Again, breathe out more stale, stagnant energy. On the third breath in, same as before, breathe in the beautiful white light, and this time pull it all the way down your body to your feet, cleansing and clearing your entire being. Breathe out the last of the dark energy. Thank the Light. I say, “Thank you Source Light.” You will be clearer, calmer, and more refreshed. It’s a simple practice, yet very effective.

Rain of Light

During part of your daily shower, stand under the water and imagine the brightest white light raining down from above. This white light is soothing, gentle, and restorative. As it rains down on you, it washes away all vestiges of stale, stagnant, or dark energy throughout your entire being, from head to toe. All blockages are released. All negative thoughts and emotions rinse away with the water, running down your body, past your feet and out through the drain. See in your mind’s eye the light coming in through the crown of your head, penetrating all parts of your being, flowing downward and out the soles of your feet. See the darkness being washed away down the drain. You are clean, refreshed, and renewed. Thank the water. Thank the light. If you asked your guides or angels to assist, thank them as well.

Breathing in the Sun

This practice works beautifully with your eyes closed. This one has been especially effective for me, as I sometimes experience asthma or shortness of breath. Best practiced at sunrise when the light from the sun isn’t as intense as later times in the day, but anytime the sun is out also works.

Face the sun and feel the light and warmth on your skin. Close your eyes and feel the sun’s rays on your eyelids, or if you’d like to keep your eyes open, soften your gaze on the sky near the sun rather than looking directly at it. Take a deep breath in, imagine the rays of the sun going into your lungs and bringing healing light inside. Hold your breath, then exhale. Do this three times. There are high-frequency light codes emanating from the sun that you are downloading or receiving when you stand in the sun’s rays. If you have a few minutes, take some time to stretch and relax in the sunlight. I highly recommend doing the Sun Salutation pose, a flowing sequence of linked yoga asanas. If you aren’t able to do the entire sequence, adapt it to make it work for you. Take that natural light and warmth with you when you’re done. This is so helpful if you work indoors or spend most of your time inside. Thank the sun.
